58365 12/5/2009 Paramus, NJ FATAL TT MVA: A fatal accident involving two tractor trailers and an SUV occurred in the early morning hours on Saturday on R- 17 south between Midland Ave and the NJ Parkway South exit. The driver of the Coca Cola truck was killed after rear ending an other tractor trailer and the SUV struck a utility pole head on. All R-17 southbound traffic is being detoured onto Midland Ave and the northbound traffic is very slow due to rubber neckers. Bergen County Hazmat was called to the scene and NJDOT workers cleared the roadway of cans of Coca Cola which spilled all over. Bergen County Prosecutors office conducted an investigation of the accident. Employees at Dennis Hot Bagels, on R- 17 south about 100 yards from the accident scene, said there is usually a line out the door on a Saturday morning. "Look how poor the Tip Jar is", said Marino Hernandez, a cook at the bagel shop. Sonny Chung, the manager said, he only made a batch of about 360 bagels this morning which on a normal day he would have made about 1000 by 9:00 AM. Other businesses along R-17 south are suffering from road closure. Tariq Zehawi / Staff WireSelects: 12/05/09
